Pattern Development & Maintenance Supervisor

The Pattern Maker will be responsible for preparing, modifying, repairing, and maintaining patterns used in the foundry and casting process. The role involves working closely with the foundry and production teams to ensure patterns meet required dimensional and casting specifications. Key responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings and pattern requirements, preparing patterns for sand, machine, and shell moulding, carrying out pattern modifications and repairs, and ensuring accuracy, finish, and dimensional consistency. The Pattern Maker will also assist in troubleshooting pattern-related casting defects and support the development of new patterns for different copper-based alloy castings.
Relevant experience as a Pattern Maker in a foundry or casting environment.
Hands-on experience in pattern making, modification, repair, and maintenance.
Experience with patterns used for sand, machine, and shell moulding.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and dimensional specifications.
Knowledge of pattern allowances, shrinkage, machining allowances, and core requirements.
Experience working with wooden, metal, or other pattern materials.
Understanding of casting processes and ability to identify pattern-related casting issues.
Experience with non-ferrous or copper alloy castings will be an advantage.
Good attention to detail and ability to maintain dimensional accuracy.
ITI/Diploma or relevant technical qualification is preferred.
